Galt Ocean Mile is a one mile strip of land on the barrier island along Fort Lauderdale’s beach between Oakland Park and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. When the company went bust in 1928, Galt took the property back, selling most of it to Coral Ridge Properties except for the one mile along the beach. Galt later sold the ocean side parcel to Coral Ridge Properties who went on to develop it. Galt Ocean mile boasts several condominiums along the beach strip with shops, restaurants along A1A, (Ocean Boulevard). To the east of Ocean Blvd (A1A) are several finger isles providing waterfront homes that have deep canal access to the Intracoastal waterway and deep water access to the ocean.
